The Clarkston Veterinary Clinic has been a certified member hospital since 1988. AAHA is an organized group of progressive veterinarians who voluntarily comply with the highest standards for animal hospitals. To achieve this distinction, the hospital and staff voluntarily undergo rigorous inspections and evaluations of the facility, equipment, practice methods, and management. Veterinary teaching hospitals and about 12% of the private hospitals in the United States are AAHA certified.
In order to become a diplomate of the ABVP, a veterinarian must satisfy the following requirements:
Dr. Roen graduated from Texas Western College (now the University of Texas at El Paso) in 1966 with a BS in mathematics. He served in the US Air Force for 6 years as a navigator/electronic warfare officer and flew as an electronic warfare officer in F-105's over North Viet Nam. He left the service to return to college and graduated with honors from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. He has been in practice since then in Clarkston, Washington.
He has been married since 1970 to Patricia, a medical technologist. Their two children, David and Jennifer, are both college graduates. David is a Marine Helicopter Pilot and married to a wonderful, enchanting, beautiful young lady, Mercedes Bonham. They have a handsome son, Samuel, and a beautiful daughter, Katherine Anne. Jennifer, married to Fine young man, Edward Petersen, is a distinguished graduate of The University of Washington Law School and a well known and respected Seattle Attorney, working for the King County Prosecutors Office. Edward and Jennifer have one son, so far, Jackson Owen Petersen. All three of our grandchildren already show great promise as jazz guitarists. "Jazzvet" is also a fan of jazz, especially jazz guitar and fiddle, other fiddle music, and many other forms of music.
